Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner and South Shore Living is gearing up for the warmer weather by hosting a spring fashion show as part of its March women’s issue launch party.
The event will take place on March 16 at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset and will celebrate influential women from the South Shore. Guests will have the chance to view fabulous spring styles from local boutiques (Chel Bella in Hingham, Lyn Evans in Norwell and Ports & Company in Cohasset.) and clean out their closets–for a great cause.
For this year’s Celebrate Women event, South Shore Living has teamed up with Dress for Success Cape Cod, a new local affiliate of the international not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Angela Akerman, the founder of the local branch that serves towns just south of Boston all the way to Provincetown, will be joining us and accepting donations of lightly worn business-appropriate apparel, such as suits, blouses, slacks, skirts, dresses, blazers and jackets.
Participating clothing boutiques will also be donating a portion of their proceeds from the evening’s sales to Dress for Success Cape Cod.
If the idea of purging your wardrobe seems a little daunting, Akerman can help with that, too. She’s also the founder/owner of The Social Butterfly LifeStyle Solutions, a business whose services include wardrobe edits and closet organizing services.
